Shrubs: Other Shrubs

Adams Needle

The Adams Needle Bush, `Yucca filamentosa,' is much hardier than it appears, and will only fail in cold, exposed inland locations, where they are more suited to be grown in containers. Adams Needle has stiff, evergreen rosettes that are commonly seed in hot, dry Central and North American scrublands. This variety features white-edged, lance-shaped leaves. It will produce dense clumps of stiff leaves that may reach thirty inches in length with fine, curly hairs. The flower spikes can reach up to six feet in height, and appear once the plants are five or more years old.
