Perennials: Clematis

Carnaby Clematis

The Clematis Carnaby Hybrid produces pink flowers with a rich red bar down the middle of each petal. The dark red anthers add to the showiness of the blooms. They are rather large plants, with a height of ten feet and a spread of three feet. They will bloom from June through September with flowers that should not be missed. The dark green foliage will make a great contrast with the boldness of the flowers. The tops of the plants prefer full sunlight, while the roots require a cool, shady area. For this reason, it is best to heavily mulch the ground around these plants.
