Color Guard Yucca


The Adam's Needle Color Guard, `Yucca filamentosa,' is a perennial that forms clumps of dark green leaves with yellow bands down the centers. During the winter months, the ribbon-like foliage turns pink. The fragrant, bell shaped flowers are white in color and hover neatly over the foliage. The flowering crown is highlighted by red coloration on the long blades. This plant grows to two feet in height with a spread of up to three feet. It grows best in full sunlight in a well draining soil. This Yucca looks best in a container or subject garden and will attract butterflies.
