Annuals: Gazania

Daybreak Rose Stripe Gazania

The Gazania Daybreak Rose Stripe, `Gazania splendens,' is a compact, eight inch tall plant. They are early bloomers and produce flowers with rich magenta stripes on a white background. The blooms will open up during the day, and remain open longer than most other varieties of Gazania. The flowers will bloom profusely throughout the warmer period of the year, and should be watered only when dry. Gazanias are sun worshippers and will close up at night, as well as on very cloudy days. Planted in well drained soils or in pots, they work well in mass plantings and beddings, or for use as a ground cover.
