Dwarf Mondo Grass


The Dwarf Mondo Grass, `Ophiopogon japonicus,' is closely related to the liriope. This ornamental grass can grow to four inches in height, and is also know as Dwarf Lilyturf and Monkey Grass. Dwarf Mondo is a perennial evergreen, and grows in average, medium wet well drained soil under partial to full shade conditions. It spreads below the surface of the ground by either stems or tubers. This is a widely used plant for rock gardens, borders or ground covers, and is intolerant of full sunlight.
