The French Pussy Willow, `Salix discolor,' is a fantastically adaptable shrub that can grow in almost any garden. It can survive in almost any soil, but thrives best when the soil is supplemented with peat moss, leaf mold or compost. They grow best in full sunlight, but will also live in the shade. As will other willows, they will prefer lots of water. It can be grown un-pruned, but it will benefit from regular pruning after the flowering period. Its catkins will develop and make a wonderful display for a long time.
