Impala Castor Bean

The Castor Bean Impala, `Ricinus communis,' produces fast growing, dramatically tropical, dark bronze foliage. Special care should be taken with this plant in the presence of children and pets, because all parts of it are poisonous. Despite this minor drawback, Impala will create one of the best tall tropical looking screens. The plants produce small scarlet flowers on foot high stalks, followed by the prickly husks that contain the brown, speckled seeds. Castor bean will make a fantastic quick hedge.
