Jalapeno M Hot Peppers

The Pepper Jalapeno M, `Capsicum annuum,' is the hot pepper that everybody knows. Popular for Tex-Mex dishes and pickling, the dark green fruits can be left on the bush to mature to a fiery red color. The three inch fruits should be picked regularly to increase production. They should be planted in average garden soil with sufficient organic matter. Peppers will use quite a bit of water, but will prefer to be watered deeply and not very often. Gloves should be worn at all times while harvesting, and hands should be washed immediately after.
