Its bright green foliage grows on thin branches that are each topped with heavy clusters of white blooms. These shrubs are very nice in mixed shrub plantings, low borders or when clumped together. They are covered with their flat clusters of flowers in June, and will bloom off an on all summer long. Spireas are distinguished by the size, bloom color and season of bloom. They all have small leaves that grow on fine, twiggy branches. The shrubs also become very drought tolerant once they are established.
