Kousa Dogwood


The Kousa Dogwood Tree, `Cornus kousa,' will make for a handsome small specimen tree or shrub. It is not as susceptible to diseases as the White Dogwood is in the spring. Also known as Japanese Flowering Dogwood, it blooms later than the White Flowering Dogwood and has softer-petaled flowers. It has low water requirements and shows a decent tolerance to salt and alkaline soils. The Kousa Dogwood is commonly planted as a specimen, near a patio or in groups.
