Shrubs: Privet

Londense Privet

The Londense Privet, `Ligustrum vulgare,' is a very dense and compact, dwarf variety of privet. This hedge will only grow to a height of four feet, and is commonly grown as a hedge due to its tolerance of shearing and dense nature. If not pruned to shape, this privet bush is densely branched and will attain an irregular shape. Privets typically tolerate most light exposures, but grow much thicker in full sunlight. This rapid grower will transplant easily and retains its leaves until well into the fall.
