The Hardy Ice Plant Mersa Verde, `Delosperma Mersa Verde,' is a fantastic ground cover that produces single, dark salmon pink blooms. Its foliage is a succulent looking deep green and is extremely shiny. This plant will grow to a height of two feet with a spread of up to twelve inches. It will prefer dry and sandy soils, and does not like wet soils in the winter. Under hot conditions, the flowers will bloom for most of the summer and require little to no care. This plant looks great as a ground cover in a rock garden.
