The Ohio Buckeye Tree, `Aesculus glabra,' produces greenish yellow flowers with protruding stamens in the spring. The flowers are followed by prickly fruits. This handsome tree has very attractive foliage, and receives its name from the large brown seeds that resemble the eyes of a white-tailed deer. This deciduous tree has dark green foliage with paler undersides, and will provide ample shade. It is also known as the American Buckeye, Fetid Buckeye and Stinking Buckeye.
