Pig Squeak Bergenia


The Bergenia Pig Squeak, `Bergenia cordifolia,' is a must for any garden. Also known as Bay Doll, Pig Squeak has outstanding burgundy cabbage-like foliage in the fall and green foliage in the spring. This lovely plant will add color and means to any garden setting. Its bright pink flowers develop in April on the fifteen inch plants that can have a spread of up to two feet. They work great in rock gardens, as a border, and will provide terrific contrast for almost any other plant, especially Ferns. They are also useful as a ground cover, and grow slowly in dry areas and rapidly in constantly wet spots.
