The Prairie Gold Quaking Aspen, `Populus tremuloides,' will grow in everything from moist sandy soil to shallow rocky soils and clay. This fast growing tree features attractive, cream-colored bark, beautiful silvery catkins in early spring and lustrous dark green leaves that will flutter in the slightest breeze. The foliage has a good yellow fall color. Growing to a height of thirty-five to forty feet with a spread of twenty to thirty feet, the Prairie Gold Quaking Aspen should perform well in parts of the Great Plains as well as the front range of the Rocky Mountains.
