Red Weigela


The Red Weigela, `Weigela vaniceki,' is a full sized plant that has good hardiness. Its dark red flowers are produced in late spring. This deciduous shrub will grow best in full sun to partial shade. Its deep, purple-tinted green foliage will form a compact mound up to six feet at maturity. Older branches can be pruned after the blooming period. This Weigela prefers to grow in a well drained soil.
