The Tomato Bush Italian Roma, `Lycopersicon lycopersicum,' is an exciting, old Heirloom tomato that is commonly used for sauce or canning. This is a determinate type of tomato, and produces very firm, three-inch pear shaped fruits that are meaty with few seeds. The compact vines can produce up to two hundred fruits each. They require at least one inch of water weekly, and should be soaked to a depth of six to ten inches when watering. This variety requires at least six hours of direct sunlight daily. These plants should be pruned in order to keep a single stem.
