Seven Top Turnip

The Turnip Seven Top, `Brassica rapa,' does not grow a turnip root. Instead, it focuses all of its energy into producing some of the best turnip green available anywhere in the world. There is simply no other plant that produces greens with as much calcium as this turnip. They are also the most nutritious and tastiest greens available. The leaves are tasty when added to salads, and can even be steamed or stir-fried. Seven Top Turnips prefer well draining soils with lots of organic matter. The greens can generally be harvested when they are young and tender. This is usually once they reach about six inches or so in height.
