Trees: Other Trees

Siberian Elm

The Siberian Elm Tree, `Ulmus pumila,' is a fast growing, hardy and drought resistant tree. It is the fastest growing deciduous hedge available, and will become denser with each trim. This is a very popular selection for a screen, because it is among the first trees to leaf in the spring, and one of the last to shed its leaves in the fall. This very adaptable tree will often grow under adverse conditions and is resistant to Dutch Elm disease. It is excellent when used for wildlife cover, and has moderate water requirements until it becomes established.
