Siberian Peashrub


The Siberian Peashrub, `Caragana arborescens,' produces showy yellow, pea-like flowers that appear in late May. This is a large rounded shrub that is adapted to exposed, cold, dry and other difficult sides. Its bark will retain a greenish color for several years. The leaflets are small and medium green in color. This shrub is most commonly used as a windbreak or a tall, informal hedge. These deciduous shrubs have low water requirements and a moderate tolerance to salt and alkali soils.
