Tree Lilac

The Tree Lilac, `Syringa reticulata,' is a multiple-stemmed, large shrub that can be pruned into a small tree. It is a heavy flowerer, with large plumes of its small white to lavender flowers that bloom in the beginning of the summer. Its dark green foliage will blend perfectly with the fragrant flowers. This tree is a favorite for a spring landscape, and it will flower more heavily than other species of lilac. This is possibly the most trouble free and tough lilac that is available. It is also often called the Japanese Tree Lilac or Ivory Silk Lilac.
