Variegated Weigela

The Variegated Weigela, `Weigela florida Variegata,' is a deciduous shrub that is commonly grown for its showy, bell-shaped flowers and its spreading, arching growth habit. Growing to four to six feet in height, its compact habit makes it a nice addition to a mixed shrub border. Its foliage is gray with yellow/cream fringes. The dark pink flowers have pale pink-white interiors and can reach up to 1-¬ inches in length. They are produced in corymbs on short lateral twigs from the previous year's growth. The flowers are very attractive to hummingbirds.
