Water Oak


The Water Oak Tree, `Quercus nigra,' is a very popular tree in the south, where it is often used as a shade or street tree. These conical to round-topped trees are fast growers, and will begin to produce their acorns before their tenth year. Found naturally along streams and low ground, this tree will provide food for many animals including squirrels, deer and wild turkeys.
