Shrubs: Dogwood

Yellow Twig Dogwood

The Dogwood Yellow Twig, `Cornus sericea,' with its yellow twigs in the winter, will provide excellent contrast against any red-twigged dogwood. This medium sized shrub is most commonly grown for its bright yellow twigs. Its foliage is medium to dark green in summer, and turns a purplish color in the fall. The twigs start out green in the summer, but slowly turn to a clear yellow in the fall and become very conspicuous in the winter. They should be planted in full sunlight in a location that is well watered.
