Zagreb Coreopsis


The Coreopsis Zagreb, `Coreopsis verticillata,' is a very prolific bloomer and features bright yellow flowers. This plant was awarded the 2001 RHS Award of Garden Merit. They are in the Tickseed family, and will flower from June through October. The plants have a height of fifteen inches with a spread of up to eighteen inches. They should be cut back during early and late summer to encourage an extended blooming period. The foliage is dark green and thread leafed, which contrasts nicely with the flowers. This plant looks great with any type of grass, in borders or mass planting, and requires a sunny location.
